Street Selfies

The selfie, everyone from Oscars PR girl to Nina Garcia is doing it. Of course I- Nathaly del Carmen- have my own and quite different way of participating in this trend. I prefer to engage in the street selfie - it's a cross between a selfie and street style over the good old fashioned MySpace styled selfie. #ThatsDifferent

The early fashion bird catches the worm... or gets to spot Bill Cunningham

Typically Mondays aren't my fave day, just the thought of it makes want to run into the nearest store for some retail therapy but this Monday was a little different. I decided to enjoy my last few weeks in the upper east side by going for a walk in the weeee hours of the morning (8 am to be exact) to do a little window shopping or as I'd like to think of it making my shopping list for when I'm beyond successful. As I'm walking fantasizing of a HUUUUGE closet or even show room full of all of the Chanel, Dior, D&G, Nathaly del Carmen's, etc. I spot a very differently dressed individual and as I stop to admire her all black ensemble and hair accessories that resemble Jupiter and Mars I notice that I'm not the only one who seems to like her outfit. I soon realize that this other admirer of all things different is none other than Bill Cunningham.

For those of you who doesn't spend every living second obsessing about all things fashion and are more recreational fashionistas Bill is part of what I'd call Fashion royalty. Bill has been in the industry for decades as a photographer (mostly of street fashion). He is a photographer for the New York Times and even has a documentary available on Netflix 

Bill is well recognized and has photographed Fashion's elites for ages like my favorite and career icon - Anna Wintour.

Who knows maybe if we dress differently enough we might get photographed by Bill, a girl can only dream.

Celebrating Brian Atwood

Brian Atwood is one of the my favorite show designers which might be due to the fact that his shoes always make me 10 feet tall and are beyond glamorous. Today happens to be his birthday. In Celebration of his birth into this fabulous world I have compiled some of my favorite designs from his current collections.
